Why Choose The Essex Smile Centre?
“We were told Deepam was the dentist to see for tooth implants, and we couldn’t praise him highly enough. My husband was terrified of dental treatment, yet Deepam completely put him at ease. Every part of our implant treatment was pain free, and the difference he has made to our confidence is remarkable.”

Dental implants are a modern solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. They consist of small, biocompatible titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone to act like artificial tooth roots, providing a stable foundation for replacement teeth such as crowns, bridges or dentures. Because they are anchored directly in the bone, implants help preserve jawbone structure and closely mimic the look, feel and function of natural teeth, allowing patients to eat, speak and smile with confidence.
The treatment process typically begins with a detailed consultation and assessment of your oral health and jawbone to determine suitability and plan the procedure. If necessary, damaged teeth are removed and bone grafting may be done to prepare the site. During implant surgery, the titanium post is placed into the jaw under local anaesthetic and left to heal and integrate with the bone, a process that can take several months. Once this integration is complete, an abutment is attached and a custom-made artificial tooth (crown) is fitted on top, completing the restoration.
